Prime Minister Launches Apna Ghar Scheme in Pakistan
The Government of Pakistan has officially launched the Apna Ghar Scheme to help citizens own their own homes. This initiative aims to make housing more affordable by offering easy financing options through banks and financial institutions.

- PKR 7.5 million
- PKR 10 million
The financing structure is simple. The government will support 90 percent of the loan, while the applicant will contribute the remaining 10 percent.

The application process is fully online, making it convenient for everyone. Once an application is submitted, final approval will be given within one month.
There is no application fee or advance payment required to apply for the loan. This makes the scheme more accessible, especially for middle income families.
Where the Loan Can Be Used

- Buy a constructed house of up to 10 marla

Monthly Installments and Markup Rates
The scheme offers a fixed markup rate of 5 percent for the first 10 years. After that, a normal market rate will apply for the remaining 10 years.
Estimated monthly installments are:
- PKR 2.5 million loan: around PKR 16499 per month
- PKR 5 million loan: around PKR 32997 per month
- PKR 7.5 million loan: around PKR 49497 per month
- PKR 10 million loan: around PKR 65996 per month
These installment plans are structured to be affordable for a large number of families.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the loan, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must have a valid CNIC
- Should not be a defaulter or already heavily in debt
Loans will be provided through Islamic banks, commercial banks, microfinance institutions, and house building finance companies.
Monitoring and Transparency
The State Bank of Pakistan and the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation will monitor the scheme. This ensures transparency and smooth implementation of the program.

During the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that owning a home is a basic need for every citizen. He mentioned that millions of Pakistanis still do not have their own houses.
