Daily Mashriq is an Urdu language daily paper distributed from Peshawar, commonplace capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The paper was established in 1963 by Inayat Ullah Khan.
In 1964, the paper was nationalized by the tactical system of Ayub Khan and in this way, it turned out to be important for the National Press Trust (NPT), which was set up to oversee nationalized autonomous papers all together free media.
In 1967, the NPT re-sent off the paper from Peshawar and one more release from Karachi. In 1972, the third version from Quetta was added. It stayed in government hands until the public authority of Benazir Bhutto annulled the NPT in 1994 and privatized all newspapers.
