Welcome To Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences

Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences for Girls is a medical and dental college located in Clifton Karachi, a noisy area and easily accessible by all means of public transport. Sir Syed College was established in 1998. In June 2016, a new administration block with HR, examinations, personnel was added. Sir Syed College is accredited by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and is affiliated with Karachi University. The institute has two major teaching hospitals, one for medicine and surgery and the other for dentistry.

SSCMS is the first medical and dental college exclusively for girls in the private sector. The establishment of a medical and dental college for girls only is to fill a huge gap in the field of medical education in Karachi's megapolis where there is no other college for female students only comprising 50% of the population. This college is actually the first college of its kind in the private sector in Pakistan.

Facilities  

Sir Syed College has state-of-the-art facilities for students such as lecture rooms, spacious learning resource centers (state-of-the-art audio visual aids), auditorium with seating capacity of 300 students, seminar room, dissection hall, anatomy museum, pharmacology museum, laboratories for all departments (physiology, biology, Pharmacology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, community medicine, dental materials, community dentistry, oral pathology, phantom head lab, oral biology and oral anatomy, library, common rooms for students and faculty members and well-furnished cafeteria.

Student participation in college activities is ensured through class representation. Every effort has been made to enlist the services of highly educated and dedicated faculty members and support staff of national repute. 

Sir Syed Dental Hospital offers a unique range of dental services to the people of Karachi. It is an integral part of the Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences for girls and is available to support undergraduate dental education. Between Sir Syed Dental Hospital and Dental College is a medical specialty covering all the features of dental.

Programs

SSCMS offers degrees in medicine and dental surgery. Degrees in college are MBBS and BDS. These two faculties are divided into sub-departments. The MBBS faculties are Anatomy, Biochemistry, Community and many more. The BDS faculty also runs various departments that offer dental surgery courses. The departments under BDS faculty are Orthodontics, Dental Materials, Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry and many more.

The purpose of SSCMS is to educate and prepare students to meet the challenges of the community and to provide prevention and treatment of oral and dental diseases in accordance with international standards.
