Dow University Hospital is located at Ojha Campus, Sparco Road, Karachi. Dow University Hospital was founded in 2009 as a hospital and a place of learning for medical students and young doctors. It is a university hospital teaching advanced care affiliated with Dow International Medical College (DIMC). The hospital also serves as a teaching unit for the Institute of Nursing and Clinical Pharmacology Rotation for students of the College of Pharmacy attached to the University Hospital on the Ojha campus of Dow University. The University Hospital is supported by Dow Diagnostic and Research Laboratories (DDRRL) and Dow Radiology Diagnostic Facilities, both equipped with state-of-the-art technology and well-trained technicians and faculty.

Facilities and Services

The hospital has 800 beds for teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students of Dow International Medical College. The hospital has Operation Theater Complex, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal Care Unit (NICU) which assists in all types of operations and care of critically ill patients respectively. It has 6 labor rooms and a children's nursery.

The hospital has private rooms, semi-private and general ward type accommodation for all classes of patients. Emergency room facilities are available 24 hours a day with backup portable ventilators and other resuscitation equipment. The hospital's OPD block provides ambulatory care to approximately 40,000 patients each month. Executive OPD is also available from 2pm to 9pm. Here our own faculty is providing advice at this nominal rate as a community service, regardless of their actual private consultation fees.

The General Hospital has consultants, resident medical officers, postgraduate trainees, medical students, nurses and paramedical staff who are available round the clock with day and night shifts.  All types of major and minor surgeries are performed by a specialist consultant. With the intensive care unit, the labor room also works 24 hours a day, which is fully equipped. The hospital has a state-of-the-art OT complex and a 100-bed ICU with a liver transplant unit.
